About Us
A small Sapling by name " Federation of
Social Institutions of Vile Parle" was mooted in April 1962 by Veteran
Social Workers, Sarvashri Late Rambhau Barve, Late Dr. P. G. Vartak,
Late Dr. S. V. Tilak, Late Shri Shantilal Bole, Late Shri S. D.
Juwekar, Late Shri. Mohanrao Nisal & Shri. D. B. Kulkarni and
was registered as a Federation of Social Institutions in the year 1967.
After Independence, the public service was
hampered as the people expected the government to do every thing for them. Only
the election minded people thought of coming into power but neglected the day to
day problems of the society. Active Social Institutions like Lokmanya Seva
Sangh,Vile Parle, Mahila Sangh, few Co-op Hsg. Societies on the East,
and on the West, Vile Parle Kelwani Mandal, Bhagini Seva Mandir
and Kumarika Stree Mandal and other such institutions had been rendering
social services to the public for the cause of their day to day life.
In 1962, we first thought of forming a 'Federation' to stand as One Public Forum
to do as much social work as possible for Vile Parle, We started Triple
Vaccination Centre for Children. Late Dr. P. G. Vartak and Late Dr. S. V. Tilak
with a batch of few more doctors, conducted the centre on every Sunday morning.
The working of the centre was managed by the 'Federation', which is now run by
Lokmanya Seva Sangh, Parle (Tilak Mandir).
